How to Track Remote Employee Attendance Effectively
Make attendance records useful by defining schedules, exceptions and review rules.
Define attendance for your organisation
Attendance can mean different things for fixed shifts, flexible work and distributed teams. Decide which work-session records are relevant and how time zones are handled. Explain expectations for breaks, meetings and periods away from the device. A clear definition helps employees and managers interpret the same record consistently.
Keep exceptions visible
A connection issue, off-device task or missed clock event can make a record incomplete. Provide a straightforward way to report and review exceptions. Distinguish an incomplete record from an established attendance problem. Review the explanation before using the data in a management decision.
Review summaries with context
Working hours can support operational planning, but more device time does not automatically mean more useful work. Look at attendance alongside schedules, leave and the type of role. Avoid rankings based only on hours when teams have different responsibilities or working arrangements.
Confirm the available workflow
Ask TrackEye to demonstrate work-session records, clock events and reporting that are available in the current product. Discuss shift and overtime requirements explicitly; do not assume every schedule model is supported. Agree the review process and configuration before extending monitoring across your workforce.
